Description
Rodgemonts nestles in peaceful seclusion within a triangular 'island' of fields and our own 9 acre woodland, bordered by typical Devon winding lanes within a mile or so of Chulmleigh.
We are in the process of regenerating and returning this 'ancient/semi-natural' woodland to its native hardwoods as well as encouraging the endangered species in the wood, such as dormice. Buzzards, badgers, foxes and roe deer abound within the woodland as well as a large variety of birds.
The house, originally two cottages, is at least three hundred years old and of traditional stone and cob construction under a thatched roof. A cattle grid marks the entrance to Rodgemonts 'Island' and the drive leading down to the house has wide and open views of the hills folding down to the Little Dart valley where the river winds its way through the countryside.

End information
Accommodation is provided in The Barn which, being separate from the house, offers real privacy for guests, enabling them to come and go as they please.
Built of cob and stone with a thatched roof and probably of seventeenth century origin, it has been partially and sympathetically converted to provide comfortable accommodation with a balcony overlooking fields and hills.
The double room with arched windows looking out across orchard, garden and woods has its own delightful small sitting room for relaxation with colour television, books, music centre and stereo radio.
The unusual and attractive twin bedded room, with the same aspect as the double room, has its own separate entrance from the balcony. A colour television, stereo radio, books etc. are provided.
